Mrs. Norma Rose Freeman, 98, of Flora passed away at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, July 24. 2021, at the Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.

Norma was born on March 4, 1923, in Clay County, the daughter of Raymond L. and Leona (Craft) Lambert.

She married Lawrence E. Freeman, on February 23, 1945, in Salinas, California, and they shared 18 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1963. Mrs. Freeman had worked for the Flora Shoe Factory and Fedders, in Effingham for several years. She was also a caretaker for several people, she loved to take care of others. In her early years, she liked Hank Williams, Sr.’s music and was a big fan of Rush Limbaugh. Later in life, Mrs. Freeman liked to do crossword puzzles, watch TV, and read a good book.

Norma is survived by her son, Richard (Janis) Freeman, of Louisville; 3 grandchildren, Eric Lawrence Freeman, of Westerville, Ohio, Toby Allen (Nikki) Freeman, of Louisville, Jared Eugene Freeman, of Louisville; 2 greatgrandchildren, Killian Orian Freeman, and Hayley Freeman.

Mrs. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Hank Daniel Freeman, Galen Rex Freeman; 2brothers, Gene Lambert, Ray Lambert, Jr.; 2 sisters, Thelma Colton, and Betty Cochran.

Funeral services to honor the life of Norma will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial to follow at the Newton Chapel Cemetery in rural Louisville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St.Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
