Harold E. Zuber, 96 of Olney, passed away at 7:43 PM on Monday, July 12, 2021 at his residence.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown. Burial will be at St. Joseph Stringtown Cemetery in Stringtown. Father Mark Stec will be officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Harold was born on February 24, 1925 in Stringtown the son of Edward G. and Emma M. (Zwilling) Zuber. He later married Margie Blair on June 16, 1951 in Olney. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2018.

He was in the Army Occupational Forces during World War 2. He later worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years. He also worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart for several years. He was a member of the American Legion in Olney, past Chef de Guerre of the 40 & 8, and a Scoutmaster in Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. He was always friendly and brought joy to many people.

Harold is survived by his 2 sons Robert Zuber and wife Angie of Ste. Marie and Gordon Zuber and wife Jane of Teutopolis; daughter Karla Anderson and husband Mike of Newark, OH; sister-in-law Estelle Zuber of Olney; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Margie Zuber, parents Edward and Emma Zuber, daughter Rhonda Zuber, 4 brothers Raymond, Herman, Joseph and Jim, and 5 sisters Marilyn, Rose, Theresa, Mary and Rita.
