Charles Edward “Ed” Russell, age 83, of Plano, Illinois, and formerly of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 AM Friday, July 2, 2021, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2021, at Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery, west of Latona, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left by clicking here.
Charles Edward “Ed” was born on July 19, 1937, on the family farm near Wheeler, Illinois, the son of Walter and Estella (Elmore) Russell. Ed retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing.
Ed is survived by: Children – Kevin Russell of Florida; Alan Russell of Wheeler, Illinois; Kimberly Williams of Somonauk, Illinois; Step Daughter – Angela (Tommy) Streff of Plano, Illinois; 6 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Angela Jean Sisko, brothers Bob, Calvin, John, Larry and Kenny Russell and sisters Anna Mae Osborn and Alatta Dare.
