Junavere N. “June” Zerrusen, 92 of Teutopolis, entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.

Junavere was born May 20, 1929 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Swingler) Zerrusen and the step-daughter of Clara (Thoele) Zerrusen. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women. Junavere owned and operated the White Orchid Beauty Salon for 60 years in Teutopolis. She adopted two children earlier in her life which gave her many happy memories.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Paul) Sweeney of Bloomington and son, Jon (Cheryl) Starr of Mattoon; grandchildren, Cordell and Ian Sweeney of Bloomington and Scott (Christina) Schwerman of Camp LeJeune, NC; two great-grandchildren, Madysyn and Brody Schwerman, both of Camp LeJeune, NC; brother, Jerry Zerrusen of Teutopolis; sisters, Jeanette (George) Westendorf of Teutopolis and Betty Ann Schmidlin of Lafayette, IN. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Junavere was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother; sister, Loretta Wolski; brother, Norbert Zerrusen; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Zerrusen and Vera Zerrusen; two nieces and three nephews.
