Ethel “Marie” Chamberlain, 93, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
There will be no visitation or services held. According to Marie’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Fear Nothing and may be received at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.
Marie was born on July 16, 1927, in Shelby County, IL, the only child of Arthur and Florence (Gatons) Gould. She married Wilmer Chamberlain Jr. on March 25, 1946. They were married for 68 years before his passing on November 29, 2014. Marie was a dedicated homemaker who took pride in caring for her home and family.
Surviving are children, Larry Chamberlain of Effingham and Carol Kinkelaar of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Shawn Kinkelaar of Carson, ND, Brad (LeAnne) Kinkelaar of Newport Coast, CA, and Angie (Tim) Moore of Bloomington, IL; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ava Kinkelaar, and Griffin and Landon Moore.
The family would like to thank Dawnetta, Jazmine, Linda and Becky for their care and support of Marie in her final years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, relatives and friends.
