Carmen A. Ainsworth, 84, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully Friday May 12, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony's Hospital.

Carmen was born September 25, 1936 in Effingham, the daughter of Cobert and Leona Lugar. Carmen married the love of her life, Roger Ainsworth on October 10, 1959 in Belvidere. Carmen served our country in the Naval Reserves and worked at White Sundstrand as an executive secretary. She was a member of the Order of the Moose for 40 years. Carmen spent her time crocheting, entering sweepstakes and contests, watching the Chicago Bears and attending the Boone County Fair. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

Carmen is loved and missed by her husband, Roger; son, Shawn (Trudi) Ainsworth; grandchildren, Alexandra (Adam) Beranek, Jenna (Tyler Preston) Ainsworth, and Kendyl Ainsworth; siblings, Jerry Lugar of Hampton, VA, NItelle (Dennis) Lading of Effingham, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her loving dog, Casey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Shannon Ainsworth; sister Doris Jones and sister-in-law Karin Lugar.

Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Anderson Funeral Home in Belvidere. Social distancing and face masks required. Funeral service will be private but live streamed at 11:00 a.m. at www.AndersonFCS.com. Burial will follow in Belvidere Cemetery.
