John Richard Moran, 77, of rural Trilla, Illinois passed away in the comfort of his own home at 8:38 PM Thursday May 6, 2021.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois with burial in the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Trowbridge. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, May 10 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church with a 7:00 PM Rosary. Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice or Camp New Hope.

John was born December 26, 1943 in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Norbert and Bertha (Welch) Moran. He married Jane M. Probst on January 11, 1969 and she survives. John served in the Illinois National Guard. He was a member of Cumberland County Farm Bureau, lifetime Member of The Michigan State Horticulture Society, Member of Illinois Specialty Growers and a Trustee of the St. Mary of the Assumption Church for over 30 years. He was the owner and operator of Moran Orchard for a majority of his years and also worked for Joint Active Systems for 10 years.

John is survived by his wife, Jane. Children; Thomas (Amy) Moran of Toledo, Fr. Allen Moran O.P. of New York City, Laura (Allen) Kish of Columbia, IL Carol (Harvey) Pettry of Tuscola, IL, Paul (Maria) Moran, Joseph Moran, Michael Moran and Colleen Moran all of rural Trilla; 16 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren and 1 foster grandson. Sister-in-law, Barbara Moran of Toledo, IL.

John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bill Moran and Margaret (Virgil) Fearday.
