Charles Mark Bee, 60 of Champaign, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at OSF Heart of Mary Hospital in Champaign.  

A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.  

Mark was born November 15, 1960 in Carbondale, the son of Charles Michael and Ferne E. (Prather) Bee. 

Mark was a valued employee of Beckman Institute for Advanced Science & Technology at the University of Illinois. He was able to make his childhood hobby into a profession and specialized in maintenance of the University’s Microscopy equipment. Mark was also published in various Scientific Magazines.  Mark hosted an electronic music show through WEFT-FM out of Champaign. He also served on the Board of Directors and Programming Committee for WEFT. Mark was an active member of the Mt. Vernon Jaycees. His artwork was selected for The Jaycees Haunted House T-shirts two different years and was also selected for the cover of the Mt. Vernon Township High School Yearbook.  

Mark is survived by his mother, Ferne Bee of Effingham; sons, Adam Bee of Calmar Manor, Maryland and Mike (Leslie) Bee of Peoria; sisters, Michelle (Bob) Newton of Ocala, Florida and Rachel (Roger) Beck of Effingham.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Michael Bee, Alma.
