Terry Fielitz, 65, of Effingham, died at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham with Rev. Mike Burdick officiating. Burial will follow in Arborcrest Memorial Park, rural Effingham. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Covid 19 protocol including but not limited to face covering and social distancing will be required.

Terry Lee Fielitz was born on Thursday, November 3, 1955 in Elmhurst, IL to Ray and Doris (Drews) Fielitz. He married Rebekah Moschenrose on February 27, 1975 at the Methodist Church, Effingham. He worked at World Color Press, Effingham for 31 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham. Music, especially drums was a very important part of his life. He played the drums from the age of 3 until just prior to his death. His favorite drumsticks will be buried with him.

He is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Rebekah Fielitz of Effingham; son, Jason Fielitz and his wife Amber of Watson; daughter, Alyson Followell and her husband Thomas of Effingham; 2 grandchildren, Andrew (Carissa) Fielitz of Effingham and Colin Fielitz of Watson; and one great grandson on the way; sister, Linda (Larry) White of Shumway; niece and goddaughter, Laura and nephew, Lee.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Ray Fielitz and his mother and stepfather Doris and Emil Heidorn.
