Rodney Wayne Van Dyke, 69, of Louisville passed away at 9:00 AM, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at his home.

Rodney was born on January 1, 1952, in Flora, the son of the late William Wayne and Glenola Elizabeth (Lewis) Van Dyke. He married Peggy Jean Wallace on June 25, 1977, in Windsor Christian Church in Windsor, Illinois and they shared 43 years of marriage. He worked as a pressman for the World Color Press in Effingham for 32+ years. Rodney was a member of the Old Union Church of Christ. Rodney was baptized at Red Brush Christian Church and then later transferred his membership to Old Union Church of Christ. Rodney was a gun enthusiast and loved to study history. Family meant the world to him and loved to be with family.

Rodney is survived by his wife; Peggy Van Dyke, of Louisville, daughter; Megan (Heath) Pittman, of Louisville, 2 grandchildren; Hayden and Paige Pittman, both of Louisville.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services honoring the life of Rodney will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 12, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Carroll Ross and George Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Union Cemetery, Bible Grove. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 7 PM, and on Monday until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Old Union Church of Christ or to the Donor’s Choice.
