Guyla Mae Yockey, 85, of Willow Hill, Illinois passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Guyla’s life will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Pastor Tyler Shull officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday, April 10th in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, Willow Hill, Illinois.

Guyla was born on June 21, 1935 in Hazel Dell, Illinois the daughter of Paul and Lucille (Kelly) Inskeep. On January 29, 1954, Guyla married Berlyn Yockey in Jasper County. Guyla spent many happy years as a cook in the Jasper County School District. She retired after twenty-eight years of service. Guyla was a faithful member of the Yale Church of Christ. Guyla was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She showed her love and care for her family and friends with her cooking. She was known for her wonderful hot rolls. Her family says her pastime was to work. She liked to keep her home, the yard and even the family car clean and tidy. She enjoyed gardening and did lots of canning.

She will be loved and remembered by her husband of sixty-seven years Berlyn Yockey of Willow Hill; son Monte (Bernie) Yockey of Yale; daughters Debbie (Roger) Sholders of Willow Hill and Paula (Ed) Francis of Yale; seven grandchildren Lynnette (Tom) DuSablon of Altoona, FL, Jerud (Chandi) Earnest of Mt. Carmel, IL, Todd (Sara) Sholders of Mt. Vernon, IN, Lindsay (Ethan) Weber of Newton, Brandon (Pam) Francis of Newton, Kim (Eric) Smothers of Robinson and Bridget Yockey of Evansville, IN; seventeen great grandchildren; sisters Kay Cramer of Yale, Carol (Larry) Abraham and Marietta Swango both of Bloomington, IN and sister-in-law Dianne Inskeep of Hazel Dell, IL.

Her parents, brother Jim Inskeep, sister Minerva Hires, and brothers-in-law Hershel Hires, Eugene Cramer, and Howard Swango preceded her in death.
