Beverly was born June 29,1930, in the family home in Stewardson, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Fern (Correll) Kruger. She graduated from Beecher City High School in 1948. She was a life-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Shumway, where she was baptized, confirmed, and her family had been very active. She remained involved in her church for many years.

Beverly married Kenneth Moore on December 21, 1955 and they had 45 years of enjoying travel, camping, hosting many gatherings, family outings, and summer fun. The couple had one child, a daughter, Kendra. Bev was an avid bowler and worked at the K-Bowl in Effingham for many years. She was known for her garage sales, which she usually held at least once a year.

When her husband Kenneth was elected Sheriff of Effingham County (1974-1986), Beverly worked alongside him until his retirement. During those years, she served as deputy matron, a cook for the county jail, and provided many hours of spiritual support, prayer, and counsel for inmates who needed her help.

Bev enjoyed spending time with her family and will be sadly missed, as she was known to put their needs above her own.

She is survived by her daughter Kendra (Fred) Johnson, Effingham; granddaughters Kerry (Joel) VanVoorhis, Mattoon; Colleen (Jesse) Johnson, Naperville; Erin (Daniel) Cuevas, Lee’s Summit, MO; great-grandsons, Elijah James Johnson and William Kenneth Cuevas; as well as one sister-in-law, Carla Kruger, Dieterich, and seven nephews and many cousins and their families.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers: Duane in infancy, Rev Ronald (Pat) Kruger, Wilmer Kruger, two sisters: Joyce (Robert) Harris, Kathy Kruger, and nephews: Terry Kruger and Clinton Merkel.
