L. Bernice Hoover, 85, of Brownstown, died at 6:46 a.m. Friday, March 29th, 2013 with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 1st, 2013 at Four Mile Christian Church, rural Brownstown.  Pee Wee Denton will be officiating.  Burial will follow at German Reformed Cemetery, Loogootee.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Gieseking – Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown. Bernice was born on Saturday, July 30, 1927 in rural Brownstown to Fred and Mary (Kistler) Franklin. She married Leonard E. Hoover on August 7, 1943 in Vandalia and he preceded her in death on Sunday, September 28, 2008. She was a homemaker and had been employed with Princess Peggy Dress Factory, Vandalia. She was a member of Four Mile Christian Church, rural Brownstown.

She is survived by her sons; Charles ‘Gene’ (Rose) Hoover, Ronald (Sharon) Hoover both of Brownstown, and Michael (Connie) Hoover of Broken Arrow, OK, her daughter-in-law, Judy Hoover of Brownstown, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Stephen Hoover, five brothers, two sisters, three half-sisters and two grandsons.
