John Marion “Pete” Kelm, 87, of Louisville passed away at 4:11 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home in rural Louisville.

John was born on September 26, 1933, in Clay County, the son of the late Ople and Ethel (Stanley) Kelm. John married Aliene Klanke, on June 9, 1956 and she preceded him in death on June 17, 1973, and then hemarried Catherine May Taylor in 1976 and then she preceded him in death on June 10, 1989. John worked for Valley Steele in Flora for many years. John was a farmer and enjoyed raising goats. In his younger years he was an avid coon hunter and a member of the Clay County Coon Hunters Club. He also liked to raise chihuahua dogs.

John is survived by his children; Mark (Debra) Kelm, of Johnsonville, Illinois, Carla (Daniel) Landreth, of Vincennes, Indiana, Shelly (John) Guinn, of Flora, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister; Betty Allen, of Mexia, Texas, a special care giver; Rose Anderson, of Louisville, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, son; Gene Kelm, brother; Howard Kelm, sister; Myrtle Neeley.

Funeral services honoring the life of John will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Carroll Ross officiating, burial will follow at the Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
