Jade Leeann Smith, 7, of Jewett, IL passed away at 4:15 AM Monday, March 1, 2021 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday March 5, 2021 at the Calvary Tabernacle UPC in Toledo, IL. A private family funeral service is planned. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is assisting the family.
Jade was born on December 9, 2013 in Urbana, IL to Jared & Kacee (Alterman) Smith.
Surviving are her parents; big sister Josie Smith; paternal grandparents Marty & Donna Smith; maternal grandparents Willie Alterman and Jackie Hatten; paternal great grandparents Lyle & Leah Smith; maternal great grandmother Carol Murphy; special Aunts Kylee Alterman (Hunter Stutesman) and Stacey Smith.
Jade was preceded in death by her great grandparents Larry Murphy, Doris McCarthey, and Victor and Helen Vanatta.
Jade loved school and was in the first grade at Cumberland Elementary. She was a bright ray of sunshine wherever she was and could light up a room with her smile.
