Rebecca Ann “Becky” Kelly, 77, of Shumway, IL, passed away on Sunday January 31, 2021 at home with family at her side.

Rebecca was born on July 2, 1943 in Carbondale, IL, the daughter of the late Willard and Pauline (Stokes) Keller. Rebecca married Rayman Kelly on July 26, 1960 in Carbondale, IL. They were married 60 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.

Rebecca was employed for many years at the Ramada Inn restaurant as a hostess. Later, she became licensed to sell insurance and assisted Rayman in his business. As a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway, she wore many hats as a member of the landscape committee, cemetery committee, playground committee, etc. She excelled at golf and won trophies in the Ladies Twilight League at Cardinal Golf Course. Rebecca will be remembered by her family and many friends as loving, generous and a joy to be around.

She is survived by her husband, Rayman; daughter, Dee (Mark) Newton of Austin, TX; son, Ron (Loralee) Kelly of Shumway; grandchildren, Randall, Douglas and Leah Kelly and Samuel Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael, Thomas “Eddie”, and Duke; and twin infant sisters, Ruth and Frances.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday February 6, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway. Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is entrusted with the arrangements.
