Martin was born on August 25, 1935, in Effingham, IL, the son of Clarence A. and Myrle L. (Conner) Nosbisch. He married Charolett Jean Horath on December 7, 1957, in Terre Haute, IN. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2009. Martin served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from World Color Press in Effingham after working as a head pressman for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Watson Methodist Church, American Legion, and Bass Master’s Association. Martin was a diehard bass fisherman and enjoyed restoring countless boats over the years, which earned him the beloved name “Grandpa Boats.” He was well known in the community for his “wheeling and dealing” and didn’t know a stranger. He loved socializing with his buddies and, on any given day, could usually be found working with them on fishing lures or having coffee at Niemerg’s, Dixie Truckstop, or the donut shop. He couldn’t go anywhere without someone saying, “Hey Marty!” Martin was devoted to his family and spent many years visiting his mother and wife at Lakeland Rehabilitation Center. Later, he too was cared for by the heroes at the same facility. Martin was kind-hearted, generous, talkative, loving—an all-around good guy. He was loved by us all and will be greatly missed.

Martin is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane (Brian) Daniels; two sons, Robert (Lynne) Nosbisch and Wayne (Beth) Nosbisch; grandchildren Amanda (Tim) Worker, Brandy Whitten, Jamie Buff, Kody Rueter, Nickolas (Manny) Clayton, Blake Nosbisch, Aaron (Skye) Nosbisch, Caily Nosbisch, Brock (Julie) Nosbisch, Kristi Nosbisch, and Bo Nosbisch; great-grandchildren Sierah (Austyn) Hanna, Miley Worker, Tiler Worker, Bailey Maroon, Easton Maroon, and Johnathan Buff and Vincent Nosbisch; and a sister, Carrie Lee Lidy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charolett; and great-granddaughter, Penelope Nosbisch.
