Tony was born on October 1, 1960, in Effingham, the son of Walter and Sandra (Lankow) Naab. He was a graduate of Beecher City High School in the Class of 1978. Tony married Kay Varnum and from that union they were blessed with two daughters, Courtney and Shelby, whom he adored. Tony worked at TA, TravelCenters of America, truck stop in Effingham as a Partsman for over 40 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson.

Tony was a no-frills guy, but what he did, he did with fervor. He was a numismatist who also loved history, sports, reading and fishing. His appreciation for history fueled his other hobbies. But what Tony loved even more was his family. He was passionate about sharing his hobbies with his children and grandchildren and did so as often as he could. Being with Tony was easy. When you spoke, he listened and really cared. He had a special relationship with each of his daughters and grandchildren. He would play ball, tell stories, watch television or just talk for hours. He was kind, considerate and was always the funniest guy in the room. For his children and grandchildren there will be a dad shaped hole in all of them. “Love you Pop!”

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Naab of Beecher City; daughters: Courtney (Adam) Hendershot of Long Beach, MS and Shelby (Dustin) Cooper of Herrick; grandchildren: Jayson, Rebecca and Jaycob Hendershot and Camo, Canon and Hunter Cooper.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Walter Naab, who passed away on December 5, 1980.
