Myrtle Marie Radke age 89, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:30 PM Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, Illinois.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Myrtle, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Church and can be mailed to the Radke Family, 400 NE 13th Street Casey, Illinois 62420. Myrtle was born on August 16, 1931, in Stringtown, Illinois, the daughter of Enoch L. and Laura A. (Doll) Kocher. She married Maynard Edward Radke on April 21, 1955, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1972.

Myrtle worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton for many years and was also a caregiver. She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, Jasper County Home Extension and the Red Hat Society.

Myrtle enjoyed getting together with family, square dancing, bowling, gardening, quilting and bird watching.

Myrtle is survived by: Children – Melvin (Kim) Radke of Newton, Illinois; Lawrence (Kimberly) Radke of Morris, Illinois; Linda (Kevin) Simmons of Casey, Illinois; Dale (Peggy) Radke of Newton, Illinois and Donna (David) Miller of Champaign, Illinois; Grandchildren – Jennifer (Mike) Schuetter, Kevin (Kristin) Radke, Jay Radke, Jill (Nick) Shelian, Scott Radke, Austin Simmons, Kelly (Derek) Sholders, Tanner Radke, Veronica Miller and Lorianne Miller; 10 Great Grandchildren – Ella, Lily, Lola, Kruz, Hannah, Isaac, Eli, Emma, Matthew and Jackson; Sister – Edna (Alfred) Miller of Newton, Illinois; Brothers-in-law – Maurice (Vanna) Radke of Missouri and Kenneth (Charlene) Radke of Ohio; Sister-in-law Theresa Radke of Springfield, Illinois.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents Enoch L. and Laura A. Kocher; husband Maynard Edward Radke; siblings Norbert Kocher, Arlene (Don) Volk, Paul (Marilyn) Kocher; father and mother-in-law Edwin J. and Monica R. Radke; brothers and sisters-in-laws Loraine “Bud” (Nadine) Radke, Delmar Radke and Geneva (Jim) Dhom
