Joy A. Garrison, 83, of St. Elmo, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2020 at her home.

There will be no services at this time. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or animal care shelter of the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral home, Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joy Ann Garrison was born on Sunday, April 25, 1937 in Shumway, to Eldon and Geneva Brandt Miller. She married Richard Garrison on January 5, 1963 in Effingham and he survives.

She is also survived by her sons; Rick (Kimberly) Garrison of St. Elmo, Keith Garrison of Brownstown, Kip (GiGi) Garrison of O’Fallon, IL. Daughter: Crystal (Jeff Busbee) Garrison of Chesterfield, MO. Brothers; James (Mary) Miller of Stewardson and Donald (Betty) Miller of Effingham. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Bernard.

Joy enjoyed animals, mountains and travel, shopping, scrapbooking and sports cars. But most importantly, she was a mother who loved and enjoyed her family and friends and was known for her great sense of humor.
