Joan Fitzwilliam, 57, of Mason, died at 6:36 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the University of Chicago Hospital.
Private family funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Mark White officiating. Public visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday with burial to follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Memorials may be to the donor's choice. COVID-19 protocol including, but not limited to social distancing and face covering will be required.
Joan Sue Fitzwilliam was born in Effingham, IL on February 26, 1963 to Urban and Louise (Baker) Boone. She married Thomas Patrick 'Tom' Fitzwilliam on April 21, 1984 at the Mason Christian Church. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2013. Joan was a homemaker and formerly a bookkeeper with Mihlbachler Insurance Agency, Effingham. She enjoyed and was an active member of the Altamont Garden Club.
She is survived by her only son, Ethan Fitzwilliam and his wife Kalynne of St. Elmo; parents, Urban and Louise Boone of Edgewood; brothers, Howard Boone of Edgewood and Erwin (Jill) Boone of Edgewood; 1 niece and 1 nephew and special friend Larry Kuhns of Edgewood.
