Glenda Kay Rook was born October 20, 1956, the daughter of Frank Keel and Wilma Sue (Brazle) Rook. Glenda and Wayne Arnold were married on July 15, 2000, and shared nearly 20 years of marriage before his passing in March 2020. During their marriage they loved to travel and raised nearly 300 head of goats, poultry and other livestock. Prior to her marriage with Wayne, she babysat for several families while raising her own children with her first husband. When all three children entered school, Glenda started her career as a meat cutter at Gene’s Red Fox in Brownstown. She then worked for Vandalia Kroger transferring to Effingham Kroger where she retired early to help her husband Wayne on the farm. Glenda was the epitome of a devoted wife, she spent the last few years taking care of her husband, Wayne, never missing a day by his side. She was an avid racecar fan and loved watching her dad, brother, nephew, and step-grandsons on the track. But most of all her pride and joy were her grandsons; she rarely missed a basketball, football, or baseball game and never turned down a chance to babysit.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Rook Kruger of Brownstown; daughter, Keri and husband Brian Buscher of Vandalia; son, Kurt Kistler and wife Keri of Vandalia; daughter, Sue Kistler of Vandalia; grandsons, Blake, Adam, Drew, Dalton, Kaden, and George all of Vandalia; stepchildren, Sherry Wagner of Erlanger, KY, Carolyn and husband Randy Myers of St. Elmo, Marilyn and husband Tim Tappendorf of Shiloh, Larry Arnold and wife Cathy of Beecher City, Julie and husband Todd Kemme of Mason, Chad and wife Tera Arnold of Mattoon; brother, Frank Rook and wife Shelly of Brownstown; sisters, Mary Gebke of Charleston, Sharon Durbin of Brownstown, Deb and husband Brady Philpot of Vandalia; step-father, Joe Kruger of Altamont; sister-in-law, Wanda Faye and husband Wayne Bushue of Beecher City; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank, and husband, Wayne.
