Dale E. Waldhoff, 75 of Shumway, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shumway with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to St. Mary’s Church in Shumway. 

Dale was born February 7, 1945 in Teutopolis, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Braun) Waldhoff. He married Carole Riner on October 12, 1968 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mattoon.

Dale was a member of the Class of 1963 at Beecher City High School and became a member of the Illinois Army National Guard, Effingham Unit. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Shumway and the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus. In 2008, Dale retired from Peerless of America. Dale was a simple man who lived a simple life; always took the back roads. He loved his family and his dog, Jasper. One of his favorite things to do was to go to tractor pulls with his grandson, Tyler. When someone asked “How are you doing Dale?” he would always say “A lot better 20 years ago”.

Dale is survived by his wife, Carole of Shumway; children, Lori (Steven) Ludwig of Sigel, Amy Webb (Kevin Blair) of Effingham; Tim (Wendy) Waldhoff of Shumway and Cathy Jordan of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Tyler Ludwig (special friend, Beth Braundmeier), Chris Ludwig (fiance, Marty Lacy), Lacy (Blake) Tegeler, Austin Webb (Sarah Wortman), Alex Webb, Aaron Webb (Allison Will), Jordon Waldhoff, Clayton Waldhoff (fiance, Mallory Renfro), Hattie (Bretton) Crouse, Harley Strong (Andrea Fritcher), Whitney (Anthony) Shonk, Will Jordan, Owen Jordan and Andrew Jordan; great-grandchildren, Rowan Waldhoff and Malcolm Tegeler; sister, Lucille Reardon of Effingham; brothers, Richard Waldhoff of Shumway and Leonard (Vicki) Waldhoff of Effingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Troy Waldhoff; son-in-law, Jamie Jordan; brothers, Virgil and Joe Waldhoff; sisters, Marian Seiler and Patsy Schumacher; brothers-in-law, Kenny Seiler, John Schumacher and Dan Reardon; infant brothers, Raymond and Robert; infant sister, Mary.
