Curtis W. Weaver, 60, of Casey, IL passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

 

Recent service times have been cancelled. New arrangements are pending. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family.

 

Pastor Curt was born September 20, 1960 in Decatur, IL. The son of Charles and Judith (Kellar) Weaver. He married Patty Harthan on June 28, 1980.

He is survived by his wife; son, Ben (Lacey) Weaver; daughter, Bethany Weaver (Johnny Beach); two grandchildren, Lilly Weaver and Kylee Beach; brothers, Doug (Mary) Weaver, Alan (Rina) Weaver and Mark (Jane) Weaver; and nieces and nephews, Joshua Weaver, Johnny (Aly) Weaver, Kenny (Deidra) Weaver, Jennifer (Kyle) Heuerman, Alexandria Weaver, Victoria (Isaac) Tanner, Jessica Weaver, Nathanael (Lacey) Weaver, Brandy Keller, Richard Keller, Grete (Mark) Veliz, Kathy (Kevin) Coleman, Leslie (Rob) Condon and Jamie Harthan. Step Mother, Suzanne Weaver; honorary siblings, Terry (Beth) King, Brenda Franklin, Peggy Hale, and Sandra Grigg. Honorary nieces & nephews; Miranda King, Tracy Ring, Dennis Jr (Tara) Ring, Guy Michael Ring, Kim Newkirk, Tiffany (Alan) Halsey, Maria (Brad) Roberts, Billy Goodwin, Joey (Melissa) Goodwin, Christopher Grigg, and Michael Grigg, He was also blessed with many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Judith; step brothers, Eugene King & John King, and sister in law, Pamela Farr. 

Curt was Senior Pastor at East Harrison St. Church of God in Charleston for 14 years. Previous ministry at Casey First Baptist, Sycamore Hills Baptist (Independence, Mo) & Mary’s Chapel (Ripley, TN) He graduated from and was ordained at Hannibal- LaGrange College. He was a family man who dearly treasured his brothers and lived his life with a giant heart. He lived a life of great faith and devotion to the Lord and his church family. He’s been the president of the Greenup Fire Protection District Board for the last 4 years. Curt loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed the beauty of God’s art through nature. He loved every sun rise/set, mowing, fall foliage, motorcycles, Golf Clash, and Sudoku. Curt was a big supporter of Camp Maranatha and adored the Weaver brothers’ reunion held there annually. He had an excellent voice and very much enjoyed worshipping Jesus, through music. Curt is an honorable man who touched many lives, hearts & souls. He will be so missed.
