Timothy G. Wendt, 64 of Effingham, passed away Saturday evening, November 28, 2020, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was surrounded by his family and went peacefully.

Tim was born December 16, 1955, the son of Frank and Mildred (Coriell) Wendt of Teutopolis. He was a member of Labor Local #703 out of Champaign for 30 years. Tim worked as a laborer on bridges and guardrails. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus for years.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Newsome) Wendt of Effingham; children, Rikki Himes of Neoga, Josh Wendt of Effingham, Jake (Kathy) Wendt of Altamont, Jeht (Justine) Wendt of Effingham, Joseph (Brandi) Wendt of Effingham, Natalie Wendt of Effingham and step-son, Eric Habbe of Effingham; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Phyllis (John) Nichols of Columbus, OH, Jane (Ed) Kistner of Effingham, Lori (Steve) Martin of Effingham and Vincent (Nancy) Wendt of Watson.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard Wendt and Philip Wendt; two infant brothers, George and Joseph Wendt.

Tim was a hardworking, loving father and grandfather and impacted many lives with his heart of gold.
