Martha A. VanSant, 93, of Farina, Illinois passed away November 2, 2020 at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.

The family invite friends to gather with them at 11:00 am Saturday at the Farina Cemetery for graveside services, officiated by Pastor Jerry Gesell. Due to the health concerns at this time, you will be encouraged to wear a mask, and respect social distancing.

The family suggest those wanting to honor Martha's memory consider Alzheimer's Dementia, or the Donor's choice and will be accepted by the Sutherland - Rankin Funeral Home. P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, Illinois 62881 (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family's care.

Born July 14, 1927 in Fillmore, Montgomery Co., Illinois, she was the daughter of Jessie O. and Verna (Burke) Cole who preceded her in death.

Martha was well known as a saleslady for Avon for 40 plus years in the local area. She loved to crochet, embroidery and sewing. She was also a faithful member of Frieden's United Church of Christ in Farina.

She married Edward F. VanSant, December 15, 1951 in Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Farina, along with her sons, John Storm of Oregon, Eddie VanSant and wife Janet of Farina, IL, and Ted VanSant and wife Kathy of Watson. Also her grandchildren, Christopher, Gina, Brice, Sally, Maria, Alyssa and Kendra. She was also blessed with several great grandchildren.

Also left to mourn her passing is her brother Jimmy Cole and wife Ruedee Mas of Apple Valley, LA, California.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Myra, Betty and Sally.
