Cecil Alan Doty, 66, of Beecher City, Illinois passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.  Burial will take place in Beecher City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.  Memorials may be made in Cecil’s name to the Effingham County Humane Society and mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, %Cecil Doty, 302 W. Cecil was born January 21, 1954, in Taylorville, the son of George “Short” and Louette “Bibbles” (Moore) Doty. He was a graduate of Beecher City High School in the Class of 1973. After graduation, he enlisted with the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 20 years. Cecil was a veteran of Vietnam, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting and yardwork. Cecil and Nancy J. Benson were united in holy matrimony April 21, 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Nancy Doty of Beecher City; six nephews:  Dale Doty, Jason Doty, Daniel Doty, David Doty, Tyler Doty and Travis Durbin; niece, Darla Doty and his beloved dogs, Hemi and Bear.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Short and Bibbles Doty; brother, Daniel Dean Doty Sr. and sister, Mary Jane Doty Reynolds.
