Beverly “Jeannie” Adams, 69, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 5.33 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020 in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, IL.

Jeannie was born on February 7, 1951, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Fred and Mabel Blaylock Leigh Adams. She was a graduate of Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1969. She then attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. Jeannie was a clerical worker for the State of Illinois and enjoyed babysitting many of the local children. Jeannie was a longtime member of the Shelby Christian Church.

Jeannie is survived by two brothers: Clarence Leigh of Decatur and Bob (Cheryl) Leigh of Dunedin, FL; eleven nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brother, Clayton (Phyllis) Leigh; sister-in-law, Dorothy Leigh and niece, Jan Reynolds.

A Celebration of Jeannie’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Shelby Christian Church with Pastor Mark Sanders officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jeannie’s name to the Shelby Christian Church and mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, %Jeannie Adams, 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.
