Lois Irene Lewis, 86, of Louisville went to her heavenly home at 4:46 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2020.

Lois was born on December 25, 1933, in Clay County, Illinois to Noll “Pete” and Ola Irene (O’Dell) Bailey. She married Glen E. Lewis on January 6, 1953 in Louisville and they shared nearly 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 29, 2016. Lois was a custodian at North Clay for many years. Cleaning the school was not just a job to her. She loved every student and staff member there. Lois was a lifelong member of Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville. She had a true servant’s heart and served behind the scenes in many areas, including communion prep, VBS, Meals on Wheels, and hospitality. Lois loved animals and flowers and being outside. Music was a huge part of her life. She loved to sing, especially with her family. Lois loved her family unconditionally and was loved deeply in return.

She is survived by her children Debbie (Rick) Allen of Louisville, Joyce (John) Robey, of Louisville, 8 grandchildren; Niki (Cortney) Mullens of Louisville, James (Christy) Robey of Olney, Courtney (Tim) Davis of Louisville, Zebikiah (Crystal) Lewis of Rinard, Jordan (Kimberly) Robey of Dieterich, Elam Lewis of Flora, Erick Allen of Louisville, and Mariah (Jeremy) Myers of Flora; 19 great grandchildren; Josie and Briley Mullens, Justice Robey, Kylee, Khloe, and Crawford Davis, Zaiden and Azaira Lewis, Sylvia, Meila, Gavin, and Nile Robey, Jadyn Lewis, Cambria, Courtlyn, and Cylar Allen, Layla Howe, Avystan and Taysom Myers. Lois is also survived by her siblings; Bud Bailey of Louisville, Dwayne (Sharon) Bailey of Flora, Ruth Busby of Effingham, Mary Heiden of Arizona, Marilyn (Jim) Hagrelius of Michigan, Sam Bailey of Flora, and Donnie (Charlene) Bailey of Edgewood.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Gladys, son Alan Lewis, sister Shirley Kincaid, sister-in-law Velma Bailey, and brother-in-law Willis Busby.

Funeral services honoring the life of Lois will be held at 1 PM Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville with Dusty Elmore(via video) and Gary Barbee officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 11 AM to 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Brush Christian Church Building Fund. McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville is entrusted with the arrangements.
