Carl E. West, 64, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
According to Carl’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A public visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church in Effingham. Private family burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Memorials may be made in Carl’s name to Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church in Effingham. Carl was born on November 9, 1955, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Clarence and Nora (Barton) West. He graduated from Effingham High School in 1974. Carl and his wife Charlotte were united in Holy Matrimony on June 15, 1974. Carl was a former Bodyman and Body Shop manager for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching NASCAR races, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter, Cheri of Effingham; son, Chad and his wife Lori of Effingham; 3 grandchildren, Kylie, Karter, and Katelyn; and brothers, Clarence (Judy) of Arizona, Cecil (Lillie) of Yale, and Andy of Effingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nora West; 2 brothers, Paul and infant brother, James; 2 sisters, Bonnie Harrison and Joyce Meyer; and sister-in-law, Janet West.
The best time of his life was being a Grandpa.
