Gary David Byrum, 67, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 unexpectedly at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Gary was born on March 12, 1953 to Crutcher and Marie (Bushur) Byrum. He married Dawn (Dixon) Byrum on May 24, 1975.
Gary was a retired carpenter, and he was a handyman who could fix anything. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, grilling and cooking. He was always up to date on the news.
Gary is survived by his wife, Dawn; his three daughters, Brooke Byrum, Kiley Byrum, and Larissa Byrum; his beloved grandchild, Shahara Byrum; and mother-in-law, Maxine Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
