Sandra Sue Cochran (80) of Altamont

Sandra Sue Cochran, 80, of Altamont, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Jolene Arend Giving Fund or HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospice.

Sue was born on Thursday, July 4, 1940 in St. Joseph, IL to Leslie B. ‘Tom’ and Thelma M. (Higgs) Smith. She married Roy E. Cochran on June 3, 1961. She was a homemaker and mother.

Sue is survived by her husband of over 59 years; sons; Brett (Teresa) Cochran of Denver, CO and Bart (Susie) Cochran of Altamont; daughter, Bonnie (Tom) Lester of Altamont; brothers, Les (Judy) Smith of Altamont and Dale Smith of Marion; sisters, Gale Lefler of West Palm Beach, FL and Brenda Hofmann of Altamont and 11 grandchildren, Richard (Michelle) Cochran, Bryan Cochran, Bradley Cochran, Zachary (Mary) Cochran, Jordan Connors, Katrina (Josh Stewart) Connors, Alyssa (fiancé, Cody Sarver) Connors, Kelcie (fiancé, T.J. Roedl) Quade, Curtis Logue, Brendan Lester and Kyle Lester and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gerald ‘Pood’ Smith and Ray Allen Smith, sister, Roberta Woodmansee, brother-in-law, Sam Lefler and sister-in-law, Nancy Smith.
