Peggy E. Walls, 70, of Effingham IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by family.
A public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday September 12, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, Effingham*. A private family memorial service will be held at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Peggy was born on April 3, 1950, in Omaha, NE. Peggy was the daughter of James and Leona (Parrott) Phelan. On February 13, 1971, Peggy married the love of her life, Ronald Walls. Throughout their forty-nine years of marriage, they enjoyed time riding horses, sharing laughs with their friends, and raising their three boys. Peggy was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bowler and could dance circles around others. Peggy loved taking morning walks and spending countless hours planting flowers and gardening. She was known to clear the room with her distinctive sneeze.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Ronald Walls of Effingham, sons Travis (wife Ashley), Dustin (wife Michelle), and Levi (wife Jessica) and several granddogs. Peggy is also survived by her mother Leona (husband Lavern) Wright and siblings Duane (wife Elaine) Phelan, Ron (wife Peggy) Phelan, and Terry Phelan, niece Holly (son Rylan), and other numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was a beloved member of the community and will be remembered by numerous friends and coworkers.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father James Phelan.
