Dominic Stasi, 68, of Seminole, Florida, and a former resident of Newton, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020.

Dominic was born on September 29, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Nina Stasi. He was a graduate of Schurz High School. He then attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1973. He co-owned Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, from 1987 till 1999. In 1999, he moved to the beaches of Florida to continue his career in funeral service before retiring from Beach Memorial Chapel in 2015. His kind, compassionate character and attention to detail resonated with the families that he cared for. In his free time, Dominic was incredibly active participating with organizations like the Knights of Columbus, Moose Club, Shriners Hospital, and the American Red Cross. He proudly served with the Army National Guard, and served many years as a alderman for the City of Newton, Illinois.

Dominic is survived by his wife, Vicki Stasi; children, Dominick (Jennifer) Stasi and Jenna (Blake) Stasi; grandchildren, Nicholas and Nina; sister, Joyce Hohn; and extended family.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Ave, St. Pete Beach, Florida 33706. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM - Friday, September 4, 2020, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd Ave, St Pete Beach, FL 33706. Burial will be in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, a facility that Dominic was passionate about.
