Donald Dean DeCoy, Jr. (76) of rural Lake Sara

DONALD DeCOY Jr. 76 years old of rural Effingham, Illinois near Lake Sara, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on Tuesday September 1, 2020 surrounded by family at his home at Lake Sara.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont by Brother David McConnel from the First Christian Church officiating on Saturday Morning September 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois beginning at 4:00 PM on Friday September 4, 2020. Military Burial Rites will be conducted in the Arborcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, following the funeral services on Saturday by the color guard and firing squad of the Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post #512 of Altamont and the US Airforce Honors of Scott Air Force Base.

Mr. DeCoy was born on September 6, 1943 in Tamaroa, Pike County, near Pinckneyville, Illinois into the family of Donald Sr and Waynetta Shelby-DeCoy where he was raised with his 5 sibling brothers Richard, Carl, Gerald, Ralph, and Bill. Donald wed Juanita “Jane” Goldman on December 8, 1968 in Tamaroa near Pinckneyville, Illinois. She preceded Don in death on January 9, 2017. Don enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 3, 1961 and received an honorable discharge on November 2, 1967. He was employed by Effingham Truck Sales in Effingham for 42 years serving as a mechanic.

He is survived by his: 2-Sons: Donald Lee DeCoy ( Kelli ) of Effingham, Illinois and his Son: Waylon William and David Waynne (wife, Jennifer) DeCoy of Altamont, Illinois and their Son: Dane Waynne DeCoy; 5-Daughters: Tammy Lynn (husband, Bill) Moeglin of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and their Son: Dustin Simbro, Connie Jean (husband, Kevin) Habing of Effingham, Illinois and their Son: Kevin Michael Habing and his 3-children: Isabelle, Remington and Oakley; Daughter: Casandra Ann (husband, Steve) Caraway; Sherry Ann Decoy, and her 4-Children: Cody Price and Trenton Gouchenouer, Chasta and Jessie Price; Donna Fay Dillion: and her 2- Daughters: Breanna Miller and Kaylee DeCoy, Karrie Beth (husband, Ryan) Smothers of St. Elmo, Illinois and their 4-children: Michael and Riley Miller, McKenzie Miller and Tasha Whitis; 5 Brothers: Richard (wife, Pat) DeCoy of Texas, Carl (wife, Kathy) Walters of Virginia, Gerald (wife, Lori) Walters of Maryland, Ralph Walters of Effingham, Illinois, Bill (wife, Amy) Walters of Louisville, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by Parents: Dominic Donald DeCoy and Waynetta Shelby DeCoy; Wife: Juanita “Jane” Goldman-Decoy.
