Henry R. “Hank” Ruholl, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home in Teutopolis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Due to Covid-19 concerns, the family requests everyone please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines for all services. Memorial donations may be given to the donor’s choice. 

Henry was born September 9, 1933 to Clem and Rosa (Rieman) Ruholl. He married Alice Goldstein on August 22, 1964 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Edgewood. Henry served in the United States Army in Germany from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #284, Teutopolis American Legion Post #924, a lifetime member of the Effingham VFW #1769 and the Effingham D.A.V #7.

Henry was a farmer and was Teutopolis Road Commissioner from 1985 to 2005. He was a music player for over 50 years playing in different bands and different instruments. Many years playing in the Illinois Troubadours Band and the Midway String Busters.

Henry is survived by his wife, Alice of Teutopolis; sons, Delaine (special friend, Staci) of Teutopolis and Arlin (Dana) of Montrose; 4 grandsons, Jarad, Dillon, Rowdy, Maverick and Tiera, Dakota, Dylan and Devon; sisters, Helen Walker of Effingham, Mary Lou (James) Vonderheide of Shumway; brothers, Robert (Jane) Ruholl of Teutopolis and James (Debbie) Ruholl of Farina.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norbert, Albert, Wilbers and Raymond; sisters, Elsie Sur, Eleanor Koester, Verena Kreke and Rose Mary Hille.
