Lowman “Lonnie” L. Courtright, 71, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Stewardson, IL passed away at 10:28 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL after a lengthy illness.

Lonnie was born on September 28, 1948, in Effingham, the son of Jack and Norma Courtright. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a mechanic and especially enjoyed working on race cars. He loved music and playing the guitar. Lonnie will be remembered for always having a story to tell anyone that would lend an ear.

Surviving are his mother, Norma Courtright of Effingham; daughters: Michelle (Larry) Galbreath of Charleston and Jill Adeleke (Idris) of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren: Shania, Dusten, Aaron, Trinity and Colton; siblings: Brenda Bueker of Sigel and Jack Courtright of St. Petersburg, FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Gerald Bueker.

Family graveside services will be held in Stewardson Cemetery with Reverend David Ducommon officiating. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
