G. Dale Wallen age 76 of Olney passed away in his home surrounded by family Monday, July 27, 2020.

He was born March 31, 1944 to Milton and Myrtle (Votaw) Wallen in Glasgow, Kentucky. He married Karon Sue Bensken in 1968. He was a retired truck driver having owned and operated D & S Hotshot Trucking in Bakersfield, California. In his free time, Dale enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting pool and bowling and going to the coffee shop. He liked to play cards and Yahtzee with family and friends. He loved being a husband, dad and grandpa and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years Karon Wallen of Olney; daughters Lori Ann Wallen, Kimberly Cheri Wallen, Susan and husband Jim Shafer and Jennifer Lynn and fiancé Jordan Woods all of Olney; grandchildren Samantha and husband Jeremiah Leigh and Stephanie and husband Eric Hostettler both of Clay City, Sierra and husband JR Price of Flora, Megan Solis fiancé Garrett Garrison of Olney, Daniel Solis and fiancé Sequouia Davis of Olney, Robert Lynk and Shane Lynk both of Lancaster, KY; Madellyn Solis, Makenze Shafer and Gage McKinney all of Olney; great-grandchildren Kendra and Mariah Hostettler of Clay City, Ian Young, Kristin Price and Collin Price all of Flora, Ellie Rodriguez and Dayton Solis both of Olney; brothers Brad Wallen of Olney, Steve Wallen and Terry Wallen both of Urbana, IL and David Wallen of Cicero, IL; sisters Bonnie Boyd of Kansas City, MO and Carol Ann Casper and husband Steve of South Bend, IN; Amy and Timothy Stalcup of Panama City, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Myrtle Wallen; in laws Leonard and Ruby Bensken, brother Bobby Wallen, sisters and brothers-in-law Wanda and George Sanders and Linda and Rob Sorquist, sister-in-law Dee Dee Utley, brothers-in-law Larry Wilkerson, Jerry Stoops, and Ronald Bensken.

Funeral services celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Gavin Bellinger officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of service Thursday in the funeral home. Please remember to practice social distancing while attending the services. Cremation rites will be accorded with private family interment services to be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Newton at a later date.
