Charlotte Bilbrey (89) of Effingham

Charlotte A. Bilbrey, 89, of Effingham, IL, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at Willowbrook in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice Southern Illinois. Charlotte was born on April 3, 1931, in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Roscoe and Rosa (Smith) Crispin. She married Richard E. Bilbrey on March 2, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2017. Charlotte worked at the 76 Truck Plaza for several years. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband. Charlotte found joy in spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her three children, Steve (Kate) Bilbrey of Effingham, Christy (special friend, Gary Crabtree) Hogue of Pleasanton, TX, and Rich (Sandra) Bilbrey of Auburn; nine grandchildren, Tim (special friend, Addie) Bilbrey, Craig (Sandy) Bilbrey, Michael Bilbrey, Jamie (Jason) Woodcock, Eric (Ashley) Bilbrey, Dan (Hallie) Bilbrey, Blake (special friend, Jamie) Wiedman, Brett (Kayla) Wiedman, and Brock (Chelsea) Wiedman; great-grandchildren, Haley, Maddox, Ava, Hank, Emma, Bentley, and Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant grandson, Bryce Wiedman; brothers, Roscoe “Bus” and Bernard; and sisters, Mae, Eddie, Evelyn, Jenelle, and Ethel in infancy.
The family would like to thank the staff of Willowbrook 2 and HSHS Hospice Southern Illinois for the excellent care given to Charlotte.
