Walter “Wally” Lee Bartels Jr., age 53, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 9:49 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2020 at Evergreen Nursing Home in Effingham, Illinois.There will be a private family graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Wright’s Cemetery in Mason, Illinois. Wally was born on May 21, 1967, the son of Walter Lee Sr. and Judith Kay (Teets) Bartels. He was a member of the Edgewood AmericanLegion post #1168. Walter served in the United States National Guard. He was a truck driver for MIC Concrete for several years. He enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, four-wheeler riding, and spending timewith his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Walter L. Sr. and Judith Bartels of Mason, Illinois; brothers, Scott Bartels (wife Mary) of Mason, Illinois and Mark Bartels of Mason, Illinois; sisters, Sheila Wilson (husband Jeffrey) of Mason, Illinois and Barbara Smith (husband Stewart) of Louisville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
