Margaret E. Freeman, 89, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Private family services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.

Margaret was born on December 23, 1930, in Effingham County, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Emma (Hoeffliger) Boehm. She married Frank Casselman on May 31, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1983. She later married Frank Freeman and he preceded her in death in 2006. Margaret and her husband Frank Casselman owned and operated Dairy Rich Drive-In in Effingham. She loved spending time with her family, especially at cookouts and holiday meals. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband, Frank Freeman. After retirement, she helped her daughter at Double Feature Antiques and Collectibles.

Margaret is survived by her children, Bill (Kathy) Casselman of Effingham, Mary (Gary) Winterrowd of Effingham, and Ray (Sharon) Casselman of Altamont; grandchildren, J.R. (Julie) Ohmen, Eric (Samantha) Casselman, Frank (Elizabeth) Casselman, and Zach (Sarah) Casselman; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Vera Dickman and Evelyn Ward; and brothers, Lloyd Boehm and Marvin Boehm.
