Clarence Robert “Bob” Kneller, 86, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Private family services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelbyville or Shelbyville Boys Baseball and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Bob was born on July 1, 1933 in Shelby County, IL, the son of Clyde “Pete” and Nellie Anderson Kneller. He married Shirley Jeanette Phillips on May 3, 1953. Bob served in the U.S. Army, where he trained as a wireman. He was promoted to corporal so he could be a truck driver and was honorably discharged in 1955. When he returned to Shelbyville, he went to work for Jim and Dave White at White’s Sheet Metal. Bob later worked for Bob Connelly Builders in Shelbyville, and Sears and Roebuck in Decatur doing HVAC installations. He then owned and operated Kneller’s Heating and Cooling in Shelbyville for many years. Bob was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelbyville. He loved hunting, fishing, ATV riding, teaching the sheet metal craft to his grandkids and spending time with his family. Bob liked taking care of the farm, and especially enjoyed watching the wildlife.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his three children, Karen Kneller of Germantown, MD, Linda Coventry of Shelbyville, IL, and David “Mike” Kneller (Julie) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Ryan Kneller (Lauren) and Brett Kneller; great grandchildren, Collin Jones, and Kylie and Kade Kneller; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Kneller of Sullivan, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Johnny Kneller; and sisters, Lou Ann Hinton and Linnie Campbell.
