Sharon Gail Phillips Davis, 67, of Altamont, IL, formerly of Sullivan, IL, passed away at 8:13 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 in her residence.

Private family graveside services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan, IL, with Pastor Steve Morgan officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Sharon was born on September 4, 1952, in Pana, IL, the daughter of Richard Paul and Edith Lucille Beckett Stewardson. She attended Shelbyville High School. Sharon worked at the Brown Shoe Company Factory in Sullivan, the Onion Ring Factory in Mattoon, and later as a CNA for over 30 years until her retirement. She married Joe Phillips on September 13, 1993 and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1998. Sharon enjoyed baking cakes, writing poetry, playing the accordion, and crocheting.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Nathan Wayne Johnson (Lisa) of Altamont, IL, and Kenneth C.H. Kimmel of Shelbyville, IL; daughters, Annette C. Johnson of Sullivan, IL, and Elizabeth Ann Locke; brothers, Paul Stewardson of Princeton, KY, Don Stewardson (Martha) of Pana, IL, and Vernie Stewardson of Urbana, IL; sisters, Linda Dilley (Mike) of Mattoon, IL, and Karen Woodworth of Mattoon, IL; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Phillips; father, Richard Paul Stewardson; mother, Edith Lucille Read; and step-father, Charles William Read.
