JoAnn Hackman, 71 of Shumway, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Private family services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shumway with burial in the church cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

JoAnn was born July 1, 1948 in Neoga, the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys (Mowell) Keller. She married Henry J. “Jim” Hackman on December 13, 1969. JoAnn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shumway. She was employed for over 30 years at Fedders Corp. in Effingham and was an Avon representative for several years, serving as the district representative assistant and achieving top sales each year. JoAnn enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds and spending time with her family.

JoAnn is survived by her husband of Shumway; sons, Jim (Lynn) of Coralville, IA and Daniel (Christina) of Mattoon; grandchildren, Luke Hackman, Lexi Hackman, Kylee Dearnbarger, Kloe Dearnbarger, Kaylee Dearnbarger, Christian Williams and Dalton Lee.
