Michael James "Mike" Bianchi, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1st, 2020, while receiving end of life care at Effingham Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, IL.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 6, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Spring Valley.

Mike was born in Spring Valley, Illinois on March 1, 1950 to Albeno and Marcella (Mateika) Bianchi. After graduating from Hall High School in 1969, Mike served two terms in the Vietnam War as an MP before dedicating his life to serving his community as an Illinois State Trooper. Once Mike retired from his successful law enforcement career, he would be found doing the things he loved most: fishing, hunting, and enjoying nature every chance he could, while caring for all wildlife – his beloved dogs and ducks alike.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by family and friends as Bianchi-stubborn, but kind and generous, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

Mike is survived by his three daughters; Michelle (Daniel) Bianchi-Green of Seattle, Washingon; Amy (Casey) Hollinger of Napavine, Washingon; & Brandi (Samia) Henderson of St. Paul, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Also surviving are his brother, Albeno (Linda) Bianchi of Spring Valley; and sister, Theresa (Paul) Doran of Queen Creek, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albeno & Marcella, and an infant sister.

A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held at a later date, when social restrictions are lifted, allowing friends and family to gather safely in order to share stories and comfort.
