Thomas A. Moffett, 89, of Gays, IL, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in Heartland Senior Living, Neoga, IL.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Windsor FFA and mailed to Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Thomas was born on June 15, 1930 in Ashmore, IL, the son of John Hubert and Luella Leola (Jones) Moffett. Thomas was a lifelong farmer in the Gays area. Thomas married Vivian L. Kull on September 3, 1950, and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2019. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL. Thomas enjoyed fishing, antique tractor pulling, and growing watermelons.

Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas Leland Moffett (Marianna) of Windsor, IL; daughter, Leigha Moffett of Gays, IL; brothers, Don Moffett of Cowden, IL, John Moffett (Diana) of Illiopolis, IL, and David Moffett (Jackie) of Decatur, IL; sisters, Barbara Wiley of Humboldt, IL, and Julia Shasteen of Mattoon, IL; grandchildren, Kendra Montgomery (Brock), Blake Moffett (Tanya), and Courtnay Orman (Robert); great grandchildren, Paisley and Bryce Montgomery, Morgan Moffett, and Brenlee, Liam and Emmalee Orman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vivian; daughter, Lynn Moffett; brothers, Wayne and Dwight Moffett; sister, Illeana Yeager, sister Luella Moffett in infancy; and nephew, Daryl Moffett.
