Gary Dean Wilson age 66 of Newton passed away Thursday, February 28 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00pm, Sunday March 3, 2013 at the Scott Avenue Christian Church, Newton with Pastor Mark Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, Sunday March 3 in the church. Memorial gifts for Gary may be made to the Laura Lynn Horn College Fund.

Gary was born on June 20, 1946 in Wauseon, Ohio the son of Darrel Lewis and Evelyn Madge (Hammer) Wilson. Gary served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. On April 22, 1986 he married Gail Ann Marshall. She survives. Gary was retired mechanic and painter.

Gary was a member of the Scott Avenue Christian Church. From growing a bountiful garden to woodworking, Gary had the talent of working with his hands. He enjoyed the outdoors and attending flea markets. His love of cars brought him to his love of the Corvette and NASCAR racing. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family.

He will be loved and remembered by his wife, Gail Ann Wilson of Newton; son, Corbette Wilson, wife Heather of Palestine; daughters Dawn Wilson of Red Bluff, CA and Calyna Horn, husband Joshua of Olney, IL; three grandchildren Jennifer and Forest Mitchell and Laura Lynn Horn; two great-grandchildren Jaelynn and Janiah Mitchell; brother Nick Wilsonm wife Donna of Oblong; sister Sharrel McCrory, husband Delbert of Robinson, Marilyn Taylor, husband Mark of Juniper, FL, and Phyliss Ervin, husband Tim of Yale, IL.

His parents, Darrel and Evelyn Wilson, preced him in death.
