William Marion King, 89, of Ladson, SC passed away at 5:44 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at home with his loved ones by his side.

William was born on July 26, 1930, in Quenemo, KS, the son of Marion Andrew and Blanche Marie (Fine) King. William and Audrey Christine Price were united in holy matrimony on July 23, 1960 in Springfield, IL. Mr. King was a High Voltage Engineer having earned his Bachelor of Engineering from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS. He then went on to earn his Master of Engineering at Kansas University. His career work in engineering included employment with High Energy Capacitors in Parkesburg, PA, NWL Capacitors in Riviera Beach, FL, Film Capacitors in Passaic, NJ, Maxwell Laboratories in San Diego, CA, General Instruments in Tazewell, VA, Aero Vox in New Bedford, MA and Sangamo Electric in Springfield, IL.

Mr. King is survived by his wife of 59 years, Audrey King of Ladson, SC; daughters: Denise Tatlock and husband Donald of Granbury, TX and Elizabeth S. King of Christiana, PA; son, William A. King and wife Dyan of Wood-Ridge, NJ; grandchildren: Sarah Tatlock, Kevin Tatlock, Allyson King, Jason King and Thomas King and brother, John King of Charleston, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and sister-in-law, Judy King.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 2 at Ridge Cemetery on Williamsburg Hill in rural Tower Hill, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL.
