Sharon Lee Myers, 73, of St. Elmo, died at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday, February 1 at Connection Church, St. Elmo with Pastor Tim Caraway officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery, rural Beecher City. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Sharon was born on Tuesday, May 28, 1946 in rural Beecher City, IL to John D. and Goldie (Tucker) Williams. She married Ronald Leroy Myers on May 28, 1966 in St. Elmo and he preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of Connection Church, St. Elmo. She had been a teller with the Fayette County Bank and been the treasurer of the St. Elmo Education Foundation. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren at her “Beecher City” pool in the summer and year-round loved spending time with, and cooking for her family. She was a babysitter and second Mom to many St. Elmo children over the years.

She is survived by her children; son, Ron Myers and his wife Cheri; daughters, Brandi Maxey and her husband Michael, Sherri Einhorn and her husband Jason, Crystal Miller and her husband Todd, all of St. Elmo; brothers, John Williams, Jr. and his wife Carol, St. Elmo; sisters, Joyce Singletary, Maryville, LA, Iva Dean Jones and her husband Fred, Decatur, Roberta Forbes, St. Elmo; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Delbert Williams and Ray Williams, sister, Charlotte Engle, and son-in-law, Devin Tharp.
