Ricky Lee Perez age 60 of Newton passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:15 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of service Friday in the funeral home. Memorial gifts in honor of Ricky made be made to the donor’s choice.
Ricky was born in Vallejo, California the son of Danny and Betty (White) Perez. On June 2, 2008, Ricky married Pamela J. Short. She survives. Ricky was a salesman for Schwan Home Foods and later worked for RSR Clean Uniform.
As a music lover, Ricky spent his free time singing and playing guitar, fiddle and drums with many area bands. Starting with Heartline, he later played with Serious Trouble, Naked Sissies, Pearl Handle and Crazy Horse.
Ricky will be loved and remembered by his wife Pam Perez of Newton; son Corey (Alona) Perez of Lahaina, HI; brother Rodney (Mixie) Tippey of Augusta, IL; sister Danita (Ed) Cibelli of TN and sister-in-law Christina Perez of TN; step-son Jarrod Robinson of Newton, Brandon (Tina) Purcell of Willow Hill and Justin Purcell of Newton; step-grandchildren Michael and Chloe Purcell.
His parents, brother Lonnie Perez and step-mother Bernita Perez preceded him in death.
